DDI Student Fund

We are aware that students search for funds throughout the year and often settle for positions that do not always accommodate their creative interests or passions for dance and the arts. In order to help alleviate this, we fundraise to provide stipends and other forms of compensation to selected college and high school students in order to incentivize artistic development and participation in creative dance performances and programming that engage the world. If you are interested in learning more about DDI Student Fund opportunities please subscribe to our DDI newsletter. If you are interested in donating to our DDI Student Fund please visit our Donate page.

DDI offers educational, volunteering, mentoring, employment, and performance opportunities along with so much more. If you are interested in learning more about particular opportunities with DDI, please contact the DDI team: dancedimensioninstitute@gmail.com

College Preparatory Opportunities

Blank Page Posse: Treating both the dance space and page as a blank canvas, participants are guided in applying creative writing and dance performance techniques to develop dance narratives and skits that are inspired by their personal experiences, societal pressures, and social challenges mainly encountered during high school and college. This program also serves as a source for mentorship between high school and college students.

Dance Steps for Success: A gender focused program that allows middle, high school, and college students to participate in a series of dance arts-integrated discussions and activities designed to contribute to writing and social skills for high school and college success. This program also empowers students to be aware of the gender specific physical and social challenges that might confront them during their educational journeys.

Steps 4 Less Stress: This program promotes holistic student mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We offer students high school and college survival tips, inner and outer body awareness practices, and creative stress reducing activities.

D.A.N.C.E Camp Scholars Program: As part of this program we raise funds to award deserving students with partial and full scholarships that cover tuition for the College Preparatory D.A.N.C.E Camp at Colgate University. If you are interested in contributing to our College Preparatory D.A.N.C.E Camp scholarship fund, please visit our Donate page to pledge your support. Our Dance the Change Showcase provides a platform to perform and contemplate dance art that responds to ways that we may dance the change we wish to see in ourselves and the world.- Dr.T

The Dance Tank is an ongoing dancing and thinking community of scholars, artists, educators, students, and art advocates interested in questioning and pushing the current boundaries of dance in culturally sustainable and humanitarian ways in order to diversify and deepen the relevance, meaning, and application of dance in our world.
